THE RETURN OF CHRIST

The Holy spirit symbolically represented by the dove

Are you surprised at seeing a dove under the topic of the "Return" of Christ? Does it not represent the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, who animated Jesus Christ by speaking to the world through him? The power of the holy Spirit was transferred from John the Baptist to Jesus when he was baptized in the river Jordan. John the Baptist said " I saw", meaning that possibly only he saw the transfer of the holy Spirit taking place. The proof follows.

"I saw the spirit coming down from heaven like a dove and resting upon him. I did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize in water had told me, "When you see the spirit coming down upon someone and resting upon him, you will know that this is he who is to baptize in Holy Spirit." I saw myself, and I have borne witness. This is God's chosen one." John 1 : 32-33-34

Let us remember that John the Baptist says in the prophecy that Jesus was God's chosen one. The topic will be repeated later on.

The return of the Spirit of Christ is perhaps one of the most controversial Christian topics in existence today. There is so much speculation in circulation that the real truth continues to remain hidden. If you wish to discover the right answers, pertaining to that topic, many biblical sayings have to be assembled in a proper order so that they can be better understood. Then and only then can all of the scattered pieces of the puzzle be assembled so that the full picture begins to emerge. That particular topic is better explained in the writings of the 24th chapter of the apostle Matthew. If we fully analyse each individual paragraph, we will become capable of assembling some valid answers. We will eventually complete the arrangement of that strange puzzle as we peruse a variety of biblical prophecies.

Let me repeat what has already being said on the main entrance page of this site. All biblical writings were originally written utilizing the spiritual language of metaphor and, in many places, allegory. Its meaning has already being explained, on the first entry page, but perhaps it needs to be repeated.

What is metaphor and what does it mean? Most dictionaries define it in the following matter :

...a figure of speech in which a name or quality is attributed to something to which it is not literally applicable.

How about allegory, what does it mean? Most dictionaries define that spiritual language as such :

...a work of art in which a deeper meaning underlies the superficial or literal meaning. Allegoria, speaking of one thing under the guise of another.

Now that we are armed with some very valuable information, we shall proceed with the complete unsealing of the symbolic topic of the "return" of the Spirit of Christ.

THE COMPLETE UNSEALING OF THE 24TH CHAPTER OF MATTHEW

Christ made a promise when He came on the earth 2 000 years ago. He said that, in the future, the Holy Spirit who spoke through him would return again amongst mankind. That scattered information is contained in the writings of the Apostle John which we already studied on the main page. We shall soon discover that the mentioned "Return" will be in a new shell ; in other words, in a new physical attire.

If we study those writings correctly, we will discover what Christ really said. He has told us that, in some futuristic time, the Holy Spirit speaking through a new Messenger would guide us again with new spiritual teachings that are labelled in the writings of John's Revelation as the new Jerusalem. They are the new teachings that comes down out of heaven from God and which would be more adaptable to humanity's present maturity.

At His second coming, the new teachings of the returned Christ would bring us to the level of the adult. Therefore we can honestly say that mankind, after receiving the new teachings, will be at a higher level of comprehension than before. In other words, our spiritual evolution will be in that state of readiness. The first teachings, given by Christ to the world at his first coming, were light just like milk which is the type of food given to young infants. Spiritually speaking, his new teachings are more like solid [spiritual] food which is the type of food given to adults. Mankind has fully matured and is now capable of greater comprehension. Therefore greater teachings will augment our knowledge of God who is the divine physician.

We have been given important biblical clues which can be easily verified. They will also help us in discovering the returned Christ's new identity. You shall find them here united with the interpretative keys. I suggest that you study them carefully, one by one, so that you may comprehend each and everyone of them ; they are numerous. In other words, all of the hidden secrets may be found in existing spiritual writings.

JESUS CHRIST ANNOUNCES THE DESTRUCTION OF THE JEWISH TEMPLE

The following is the first paragraph of the 24th chapter of Matthew. The prophecy was predicting the future destruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem which occurred some years later.

Jesus was leaving the temple when his disciples came and pointed to the temple buildings. He answered, "Yes, look at it all. I tell you this : not one stone will be left upon one another; all will be thrown down." Matthew 24 : 1-2

History relates to us that the Roman empire destroyed the mentioned temple a few years later and exactly as predicted by Jesus Christ. We shall soon discover that the completion of the building of that particular temple occurred many years before Jesus Christ was born, the prophet Daniel will soon give us that answer.

It would seem that the first Christian translators rewrote the Bible at the beginning of the Christian era and masked out the real truth, thus disabling us from understanding the true position of Christ operating within the Jewish community. For example : did you ever ask yourself what relation Jesus had with the Jewish religion because he often taught the Jewish people in their own temples and synagogues wherever He went. His popularity allowing Him one day to even chase some vendors from a certain Jewish House of worship. The proof follows :

...Jesus replied, "I have always taught in synagogue and in the temple, where all Jews congregate. I have said nothing in secret. John 18 : 20

Jesus, who was of Jewish descent, must have been a Jewish Rabbi. But He was no ordinary Rabbi. He had inherited a very special power, that of healing human souls by His divine teachings and that of healing human bodies by the intervention of the Holy Spirit that was transferred to Him from John the Baptist when He was baptised in the river Jordan.

One of the proofs, saying that He was a Jewish Rabbi, is contained in the twenty-sixth chapter of the Apostle Matthew. You may find many others in the new testament, if you attentively search for them. The following is a good proof telling us that Jesus was a Rabbi.

Then Judas spoke, the one who was to betray him : "Rabbi, can you mean me?" Jesus replied, "The words are yours." Matthew 26 : 25

The following paragraphs are the proofs, taken from scriptures, that Jesus often taught the Jewish people in their own houses of worship, in their own temples and synagogues which is something that only Jewish Rabbis are allowed to do.

When the festival was already half over, Jesus went up to the temple and began to teach... John 7 : 14

If we continue to study the 24th chapter of Matthew, we shall discover many more valid answers pertaining to that interesting topic.

In the following prophecy, Christ is being asked what is the sign of his return? How will people know that His Spirit essence has returned to this world to obviously give us greater spiritual teachings, greater spiritual food. How can our present generation recognize Him? How will we know that the same spirit essence has returned to this world? How will we know that God has re-manifested Himself to the world through another divinely sent Messenger?

What we have to realize, contrary to popular belief, is that the promised "return" is that of the return of the spirit of Christ containing all of his spiritual qualities. Therefore, it is not a physical return. In other words, Christ does not return in the same shell [flesh] contrary to the beliefs and to the teachings of many religious teachers. For Him to return in the same flesh would be a great impossibility which would resemble the greatest of fairy tales, which we have been given many in the past.

THE SIGNS OF HIS "RETURN"

In the following biblical prophecy, Christ is being asked what will be the sign of his (second ) coming. In other words, what will be the signs pertaining to His spiritual "Return".

When he was sitting on the Mount of Olives the disciples came to speak to him privately ; "Tell us", they said, "When will this happen? And what will be the signal for your coming and the end of the age? Matthew 24 : 3

The disciples asked Him a question and Christ gives them an answer. How many really understood His answer? Did you notice that Matthew said the end of an age and not the end of the world? Newer Bibles, which are available on the market, have properly written down the words of Christ which is "age" and not "world". The new Testament of the Bible was translated from the Greek language in which it was originally written in. There are two words which are similar in that language, world and age. The early translators made a mistake which has now been corrected in all newer biblical versions which are available on the market.

Jesus replied "Take care that no one misleads you. For many will come claiming my name and saying, "I am the Messiah"; and many will be misled by them... Matthew 24 : 4-5

First of all, Christ never referred to himself under any other title than that of Son of man or Prophet. Therefore, It is a definite proof that the above paragraph was trying to tell us that he would not be known under the great title of Messiah. Many important facts seem to have been left out of that prophecy. Was the Holy Spirit, speaking through the man Jesus, trying to tell us that the "Return" of Christ is the return of the Spirit of Christ who comes back inhabiting a new shell and who will also be known under a different name?

In the writings of Revelation, given to us by John, we are told that He will have a new name at His return. We have already read that paragraph on the main page of this site. However, you may have missed it or forgotten it. So here it is again.

...the city of my God, that new Jerusalem which is coming down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name. Revelation 3 : 12

The following biblical quotation is perhaps one of the most important clues pertaining to the understanding of the timing of His "Return".

The time is coming when you will hear the noise of battle near at hand and the news of battles far away; see that you are not alarmed. Such things are bound to happen ; but the end is still to come. For nation will make war upon nation, kingdom upon kingdom ; there will be famines and earthquakes in many places. With all these things the birth-pangs of the new age begins. Matthew 24 : 6-7-8

You might very well say and you would be correct in saying it : we have always had wars on this planet and there are still some which develop from time to time, so how can anyone recognize the promised day of Christ's return? Also, there are still some famines and some powerful earthquakes which still visits certain countries. So, how can anyone recognize the promised day? We shall discover the answers to that puzzling question but only if we continue our research and if we analyse some other prophecies which will lead us to discover the truth pertaining to that topic.

Have you noticed that Christ, speaking about His return, said that it would be at the beginning of a new age or era? (the birth pangs of the new age begins) We shall soon discover when that new age began.

Rumours of war are no longer a possibility because, in the present era which we live in, we have global communications systems which operate at fantastic speeds. The Internet is possibly the fastest communication system that has ever been developed, it can reach all areas of the planet at the blinking of an eye. Also, satellite communications are now encircling the globe enabling the east, the west, the north and the south to communicate together in a matter of moments. Therefore, rumours of war are no longer a possibility. Which can only mean that Christ would return before a global communication system goes into operation.

Did we miss the actual event of Christ returning like He said He would, is it an event that has already occurred? Who will accept that the Spirit of Christ has already returned to this world and has given us new spiritual food, new teachings, which are necessary for the advancement of our earthly civilisation?

The people of this world have become extremely attached to their old religions and to their old teachings, have they not? Is Christianity not 2 000 years old and some other world religions even older than that? Don't the people of this world want God to give them something new? Does this world have a need for something new so that we can continue to advance forward in a more orderly fashion?

What are the above mentioned new age birth pangs? The following description gives us an answer pertaining to the meaning of that topic.

"You will be handed over for punishment and execution; and men of all nations will hate you for your allegiance to me. Many will fall from their faith ; they will betray one another and hate one another. Matthew 24 : 9-10

Let us remember that Christ is talking about events that will occur at the return of the Holy Spirit who will be talking to the world through another divine Messenger. Those who will accept Christ's new teachings and accept His new name, at his second coming, will be hated by many other people. Many who have accepted the new teachings will lose their lives in that unfortunate and unnecessary conflict. Mankind, generally speaking, still does not want to accept anything new. We still want to hang on to the old and to the outdated. History relates that certain people have turned into murderers by taking the lives of those who have been able to perceive and accept new truths sent down from God and given us through His earthly Manifestation.

Many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many; and as lawlessness spreads, men's love for one another will grow cold. But the man who holds out to the end will be saved. And the Gospel of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the earth as a testimony to all nations ; and then the end will come. Matthew 24 :11-12-13-14

Many false prophets have indeed arisen since the beginning of Christianity, they have led many Christians astray. The proof is that Christianity now has many sects, all having their own names. Each and everyone of them are claiming to be the true Christians. How do we tell the true from the false? Simply beware and do your own investigation if you really wish to discover the truth. You have the responsibility to question any religious teachings that have been given to you. If they do not make any sense, and resemble fairy tales, you do not have to accept any of them. The days are long gone whereby we have to accept religious teachings without questioning any of them. Mankind today is generally better educated than he ever was in the past. Therefore, man and women are both capable of discovering greater truth all by themselves, they no longer need religious teachers that sometimes fills them full of various fairy tales and untruths.

The meaning of "then the end will come" is as follows : in Matthew chapter 24, verses 3 and 4, Christ said that when the Gospel was taught to all of the people of the earth, meaning to all countries, that it would be the end of an age. Therefore, we can honestly say that the Spirit of Christ returns to give us greater teachings at the beginning of a new era. It is interesting to note that we presently live in a new era, the age of Aquarius. I shall soon prove to you that it began on the 23rd of May in 1844. It is also interesting to mention that Christianity reigned during the previous age of Pisces whose symbol is the fish. The early Christians in Rome recognized one another by utilizing that sign. There is also the fact that the comet that the three biblical Astronomers followed all the way to the holy land, 2 000 years ago, was a divine announcement that the age of Pisces had begun and that God had re-manifested Himself among mankind. It was announcing the coming of Jesus Christ and the beginning of the Christian era. God always warns us when a new major era is about to begin, he always sends us a heavenly sign on the day that the new era begins.

THE GREAT DISTRESS

A great clue is now given us so that we may better understand the real meaning of the second coming of the Spirit of Christ.

So when you see "the abomination of desolation", of which the prophet Daniel spoke, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judaea must take to the hills. If a man is on the roof, he must not come down to fetch his goods from the house ; if in the field, he must not turn back for his coat. Matthew 24 : 15 to 24 :18

Jesus Christ, whom we discovered to be a Jewish Rabbi according to biblical writings, had great knowledge of the old testament because he often read from its text in the Jewish Temple. He is referring us to some of the writings of the prophet Daniel that contain the necessary clues pertaining to the return of His Spirit essence. Will those clues tell us the actual year of Christ's return?

It is important that we peruse what the great prophet Daniel really had to say pertaining to that topic, if we want to discover the hidden answer. But first let me warn you, those clues are not easy to understand so I suggest that you take your time studying them. They were not easy to find, it took a lot of time and patience and even more precious time to understand them properly.

In the writings of the prophet Daniel, it is said that seventy weeks are appointed for the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem (70 weeks X 7days per week = 490). That includes the building of the temple, its adjoining buildings and all of the streets of that city.

Consider well the word, consider the vision : seventy weeks are marked out for your people and your holy city ...vision and prophecy sealed, and the Most Holy Place anointed. Know then and understand : from the time that the word went forth that Jerusalem shall be restored and rebuilt, seven weeks shall pass till the appearance of one anointed, a prince ; then for sixty-two weeks it shall remain restored, rebuilt with streets and conduits. Daniel 9 : 24-25

It is not a prophecy that can be easily understood. First it mentions that 70 weeks are marked for the complete rebuilding of the holy city, the city of Jerusalem. What the prophecy is also saying is that 62 weeks are marked for the reconstruction of Jerusalem, which includes its streets and conduits. Seven weeks shall pass after the rebuilding is complete : the one who is anointed, and mentioned as being a spiritual prince, is Jesus Christ. After that time, He would have appeared and given His teachings to the world. Then He would disappear from the teaching scene.

It is a prophecy pertaining to the first Manifestation of Christ on earth. His first coming, 2 000 years ago. Christ is the one referred to as the anointed one. He is that mentioned spiritual Prince.

It took 62 biblical years to rebuild the entire city of Jerusalem. Then Christ the anointed prince came for seven biblical weeks. The total of those weeks is now 69 weeks (62+7=69). At the end of the sixty-ninth week, and at the beginning of the 70 weeks, Christ was crucified on the orders given by the Jewish high priests. As we shall discover later on, He did not die on the cross contrary to what we have been told. The proof of His remaining alive is presented to you in the presentation of the strange events pertaining to the crucifixion.

The following re-written paragraph should not be accepted as being truthful because we will discover later on that the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, did not want to hurt Jesus in any way. Read on and you shall soon discover what really happened.

...said Pilate. "Your own nation and their chief priests have brought you before me. John 18 : 35

I will give you more explanations pertaining to the prophecy of Daniel a little farther down the page. For the moment, let us verify the four edicts which were written by various kings and which pertains to the complete rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem.

A decree was issued, in 444BC, by the king whose name is Artaxerxes. This one was recorded by the prophet Nehemiah.

Now I was the king's cupbearer, and one day, in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of king Artaxerxes, when his wine was ready, I took it up and handed it to the king... "If it please your majesty, and if I enjoy your favour, I beg you to send me to Judah, to the city where my forefathers are buried, so that I may rebuilt... then the king approved the request and let me go. Nehemiah 2 : 1-5-6

Darius of Persia issued another edict, in 519 BC. It was recorded by the prophet Ezra in the sixth chapter of his writings.

Then king Darius issued an order, and search was made in the archives where the treasures were deposited in Babylon. But it was in Ecbatana, in the royal residence in the province of Media, that a scroll was found, on which was written the following memorandum : In the first year of king Cyrus, the king issued this decree concerning the house of God in Jerusalem : Let the house be rebuilt as a place where sacrifices are offered and fire-offerings brought... Ezra 6 : 1-2-3

Another edict was issued in the year 536 BC by king Cyrus of Persia. It is recorded in the first book of the writings of the prophet Ezra.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, so that the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the heart of Cyrus king of Persia; and he issued a proclamation throughout his kingdom, both by word of mouth and in writing, to this effect : This is the word of Cyrus king of Persia: the Lord the God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he himself has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem in Judah... Ezra 1 : 1-2-3

A final edict was issued, in the year 457 BC, by the king Artaxerxes. It was recorded in the seventh chapter of the writings of the high priest Ezra.

This is a copy of the royal letter which king Artaxerxes had given to Ezra the priest and scribe, a scribe versed in questions concerning the commandments and the statutes of the Lord laid upon Israel : Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest and scribe learned in the law of the God of heaven : This is my decision. I hereby issue a decree that any of the people of Israel or of its priests or Levites in my kingdom who volunteer to go to Jerusalem may go with you... Ezra 7 : 11-12-13

If you analyse those edicts correctly, you will notice that the prophet Daniel in His own prophecies may have been referring us to the edict that was issued by king Artaxerxes in the year 457 BC.

Therefore, we can truthfully say that the edict that king Artaxerxes issued was done 457 years before the birth of Christ. We also know that when Christ disappeared from the Holy Land He was 33 years old. So when we add 33+457=490. That is the actual time given us by Daniel for the Manifestation of Jesus Christ on earth, for His first appearance.

The seventy weeks refer us to the year 457 BC ( 70X7=490 ). According to the texts of the holy books, each day is equivalent to a year. In the Bible, it is written :

"The day of the Lord is one year."(see numbers 14 : 34).

From that saying, we can deduct that 490 biblical years are meant.

At the critical time, after the sixty-two weeks, one who is anointed shall be removed with no one to take his part... Daniel 9 : 26

The prophet Daniel mentions two periods, the first period ending after sixty-two weeks. History tells us that It took 49 of our solar years to rebuild the temple of Jerusalem, that does not include the time that it took to rebuild the city. The second period mentioned, in verse 26, are the 70 weeks. It is the time that it took to rebuild all of Jerusalem, the temple and all of the attached buildings. So we have to say that no contradiction exists because both dates are meaningful.

By studying the prophecies of Daniel, we discovered the dates of the first coming of Christ as well as that of his disappearance, as it has been prophesied. Can we prove if his second coming was pre-ordained? Yes, we most certainly can. We shall now discover the year that the Spirit of Christ was prophesied to "Return" and, in addition, the year that his forerunner would make himself known by Manifesting Himself to the world.

THE "RETURN" OF CHRIST AND THAT OF HIS FORERUNNER

The prophet Daniel gave us the answers pertaining to those perplexing questions. He gave us the year whereby a forerunner would come on the scene and the year whereby Christ would be re-manifested, including the year that he would declare His Mission to the world.

I heard a holy one speaking and another holy one answering him, whoever he was. The one said, "for how long will the period of this vision last? How long will the regular offering be suppressed, how long will impiety cause desolation, and both the Holy Place and the fairest of all lands be given over to be trodden down? The answer came, "For two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings ; then the Holy Place shall emerge victorious." Daniel 8 : 13-14

God appoints 2 300 lunar biblical years before the return of Christ occurs. We have already discovered, in various biblical texts, that each day is a year. Then from the date of the issuing of the edict of Artaxerxes to rebuild Jerusalem until the day of the birth of Christ there were 456 years. Therefore, from the birth of Christ until the day of the Manifestation of his forerunner there were 1844 years. By adding 456 years to 1844 it gives us 2 300 years (456+1844=2 300). So, the fulfilment of the vision of Daniel took place in the year 1844 AD, it was the year of the Manifestation of Christ's forerunner according to the information given in chapter 8 of the prophet Daniel's writings. Has Daniel not clearly given us the year of that coming, of that Manifestation? Can a prophecy predicting a Manifestation of God possibly be any clearer?

The Apostle Matthew clearly says what Daniel meant by this prophecy. It was the mention of the re-manifestation of Christ. He seems to be referring us to the writings contained in the eight chapter of Daniel. He is saying that everyone who reads it will understand that it is the time spoken of by that prophet. It is important that we consider how clearly the manifestation of the forerunner is spoken of in the old Testament as well as in the new Testament of the Bible.

In the writings of the prophet Daniel we will discover that he gives us the year for the coming of the forerunner that announced that Christ would return to this world to give us greater spiritual teachings. Here it is :

"And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by Him that lives for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and that when He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished." Daniel 12 : 6

There are some things which we have to realize so that we can really understand the meaning of a biblical time. A biblical time represents a year; times represents two years; and a half represents half a year. Thus the prophecy is mentioning a total of three and a half years which are equivalent to 42 months (3 x12+6=42). We also know that 42 months of the lunar calendar represents 1260 days (42X30=1260). According to holy texts, 1260 days represents 1260 years. When converted to solar years those 1260 lunar years become 1222 solar years of our present day calendar. So the year 1260, of the hegira of Mohammad, which began in 622 AD, represents the year of the coming of a forerunner which is 1844 (622+1222=1844 AD). We have arrived at that conclusion when we converted the prophecy from the ancient lunar calendar to our solar calendar which utilizes solar years of 365 days per year. 1844 is thereby the year given us by Daniel that the forerunner would make His appearance before Christ returns. If you wish to understand Biblical years correctly you have to become familiar with the lunar calendar that was utilized in those days. It is important that you understand both calendars properly so that you can arrive at the correct solutions when attempting to discover biblical dates.

In conclusion, let us attempt to discover the date of the re-manifestation of Christ. The date which the Spirit of Christ returns can be calculated according to lunar years. In those days, the lunar calendar which consisted of 30 days per month was in use.

We have discovered the date, 1844, which was the year for the coming of the forerunner who announced the second coming of Christ by saying that in the year nine, meaning nine years later, (1844+9=1853) that God would remanifest Himself. Was that answer given us in biblical writings? Yes, it was. Daniel has once again given us another date which is contained in the following prophecy.

"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolation be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waits, and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days." Daniel 12 : 11

The lunar years utilized in that prophecy began with the first day of the proclamation of the prophethood of Muhammad in the country of Hijaz. That year is equivalent to the year 622 AD of the solar calendar. The beginning of the prophethood of Muhammad was kept secret, only two persons knew of it. However, It was announced in the year 625 AD, after a period of three years.

The second coming of Christ is mentioned by Daniel as the lunar year 1290 which is equivalent to the year 1863 of our solar calendar. So knowing the year, of the proclamation of the mission of Mohammed, the year whereby His Manifestation was to be known. The date for the coming of Christ's forerunner, at his second return, has also been given us. We discovered it to be 1844 AD. So Daniel has given us three important dates, 1844 for the date of the coming of Christ's forerunner at his second coming ; 1853 being the date whereby Christ was re-manifested, nine years after the Manifestation of the forerunner and 1863 as the date that the returned Christ would declare His mission to the world .Those years have passed us by and the majority of the people of this world are still unaware that those great events have already occurred. Why did we miss knowing about those important events? Is it because very few people are searching for greater truths, 150 years after that great happening, or is it because we have only accepted what our religious teachers have been telling us?

THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN

Our tenacity in searching for greater truth has allowed us to discover the year whereby Christ would return, 1853 AD, and that of His declaration, in 1863 AD. The declaration of His forerunner occurred in 1844 AD.

The following symbolical prophecy tells us that Christ will not be accepted by many of the people of this world at His second coming and that many of His followers will be mistreated and that some will be martyred and killed because of their new beliefs.

Alas for women with child in those days, and for those who have children at the breast! Pray that it may not be winter when you have to make your escape. It will be a time of great distress; there has never been such a time from the beginning of the world until now, and will never be again. If that time of troubles were not cut short, no living thing could survive ; but for the sake of God's chosen it will be cut short. Matthew 24 :19 to 24 : 22

The Apostle Matthew is actually trying to tell us that, at the time of the return of the spirit of Christ and after He begins giving His new teachings through a new Godly Manifestation, there will be many persecutions against those who have begun accepting those new teachings. He tells us that the persecutions will be very terrible, especially for many of the women who have begun accepted them. Those who will be the most affected will be : those who are carrying a child in the womb, or those who have young infants at the breast. Many of them will have to run away from their home environment in order to avoid being persecuted. (See "God passes by" in one of its last chapters, you may download it from the Internet)

Have you noticed that those who accept the new teachings of Christ, at His second coming, are called God's chosen.

Christ also says that those persecutions will be the most severe that mankind has ever seen or that they will ever see again. Never again will God allow such persecutions against anyone, especially not against His chosen, they are those who were ready to accept the new teachings that the returned Christ has given to our world.

Then if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the Messiah", or, "there he is", do not believe it. Impostors will come claiming to be messiahs or prophets, and they will produce great signs and wonders to mislead even God's chosen, if such a thing were possible. See I have forewarned you. Matthew 24 : 23-24-25

Christ is very specific. He tells us not to believe anyone claiming to be the Messiah. Then how will we be able to recognize him? It is quite probable that Christ was trying to tell us that only through prayer, meditation and personal research would we be able to recognize Him at His return. He says that he has forewarned us so it is our responsibility to search for him so that we may discover and study his new teachings, accept them and put them into practice. We will then become God's chosen.

Have you noticed that God's chosen have been mentioned many times. They are those who are capable of recognizing the returned Christ and accept His new teachings at His second coming. They are capable of laying aside old spiritual teachings and accept the new which has been given to humanity by God's new Manifestation.

If they tell you, "He is there in the wilderness", do not go out ; or if they say, "He is there in the inner room", do not believe it. Like lightning from the east, flashing as far as the west, will be the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24 : 26-27

If we cannot believe anyone telling us that Christ has returned, then how can we discover Him? What Christ is really recommending, indirectly, is that we search for him on our own. He also tells us that his coming will be like lightning which lights up the eastern sky to eventually make its way to the western sky. What does it mean?

Could it possibly mean that like the speed of lightning, meaning very quickly, he will come from an eastern country and that his new teachings would eventually make their way to the western countries? Which also means that religious teachers will not be able to recognize the moment of his coming because Christ has told us not to believe anyone, so we have no choice but to search for him by ourselves. This type of symbolism is also well presented in the following verse.

"Wherever the corpse is, there the vulture will gather". Matthew 24 : 28

Christ often spoke symbolically. The corpse may be representing the person who is spiritually dead. The vulture could symbolically represent someone who pretends to be enlightened. Like a vulture who flies above its prey, he attempts to attract him to his own cause.

"As soon as the distress of those days has passed, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give her light, the stars will fall from the sky, the celestial powers will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign that heralds the Son of Man. All the peoples of the world will make lamentations, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with great power and glory. Matthew 24 : 29-30

What does it all mean? At first hand, those paragraphs seem very hard to understand because they are written very symbolically. However, they are not beyond human understanding if we wish to take the time to study them very carefully. Here are the keys :

In its symbolic order, the sun symbolically represents a divine Manifestation. The Holy Spirit, speaking through a divine Messenger, reflects to the world the rays of the sun of truth similarly to a polished mirror. Which means that the divine Manifestation sent by God reflects the divine teachings to this world when He speaks through a new Messenger. So the sun being obscured represents the old teachings which have been given us by our religious teachers, they have fallen into spiritual darkness. The moon, which normally reflects the rays of the sun, also represents the religious teacher who has fallen into spiritual darkness and who can no longer recognize the real truth. Therefore, like the moon he can no longer reflect the rays of the sun to the world.

When Christ returns, it is said that the celestial powers will be shaken from one end of heaven to the other end. What does it mean?

It is a great distress for the people of this world when Christ returns to give us new teachings. Most of the people have become very attached to the teachings of their old family religions and do not want to investigate or accept any new given teachings whatsoever. The majority of the people of this world have not been able to recognize the signs of Christ's return so, therefore, when Christ does return and gives new teachings to the world they do not want to investigate or accept them. The irony of it is that the religious teachers still tell their flock not to listen to new teachings been given to the world or investigate anything outside of their own old family religion. History seems to be repeating itself, is it not? Those who belong to the Jewish religion refused, and are still refusing, to accept the first coming of Christ. It would seem that many Christians are now following in their footsteps by not wanting to accept the promised return as described to us in biblical writings.

Should the sun be darkened for too long a period of time, it is a known fact that everything on earth would soon freeze over. Shortly after all life would cease to exist on earth. So the sun been darkened has to have another meaning. Perhaps the meaning is that the original teachings have been clouded over. In other words, it seems to be saying that they have been corrupted.

What is the sign of the Son of Man which will appear in heaven? What can we possibly see in the heavenly sky that can be a visible sign announcing the return of the Spirit of Christ? How about a comet? Will a comet announce the second coming of Christ as it did the first time when the three kings, the three astronomers, followed the comet's path leading them to the holy land?

There is a great possibility that the paragraph which says, "All the people of the world will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great glory", has been badly misunderstood. Let me explain : as we know, no one can possibly perceive anything happening in the physical heaven by simply looking at the clouds. How can all of the people of this world see the same event occurring while looking at the same cloud? That is an impossibility. Therefore that meaning has to be highly symbolic, it may have the following meaning : the meaning of the clouds could very well be that mankind's mind would be clouded over and would not be capable of truly understanding what is happening when Christ does make His promised return. So it can be said that Christ returns to this world when man's mind is clouded over, full of human doubts and uncertainties. It can also be said, symbolically, that Christ returns with the clouds of heavenly knowledge.

Christ returns in ways that are contrary to those taught by religious teachers. In other words, He does not return the way that it is expected. Since it is the Holy Spirit that returns and speaks through another divine Messenger, then obviously the only way to discover Him is to search for Him. There are no other ways.

What could be the true meaning of Christ returning on the clouds of heaven? The answer to that question has been given us in God's new Revelation to the world. Here it is :

* If that prophecy was fulfilled literally, who would disbelieve? If Jesus, the son of Mary, was to literally return on the clouds of heaven with the angels, who could disbelieve such an happening? The people of this world would become speechless and unable to utter any words.

To believe that Christ returns on the physical clouds of heaven is like believing in fairy tales, the fairy appearing with her magic wand. The true meaning of that prophecy could be that man's mind will be clouded over, unable to perceive the true happening. The reason : the majority of the people of this world are not searching for the returned Christ. Therefore, they are unable to find Him because of their inaction.

Matthew now tells us that the chosen, meaning those who have searched and discovered the returned Christ new teachings, will come from the four corners of the earth (the four winds). In other words, those who will respond to the teachings of God's new messenger will be found in all countries of this world.

With a trumpet blast he will send out his angels, and they will gather the chosen from the four winds, from the farthest bounds of heaven on every side. Matthew 24 : 31

That verse is very symbolically written. The trumpet blast is the spiritual announcement of the coming of the Son of Man. The forerunner being the one who makes that announcement which normally falls on deaf ears except for a chosen few who are more spiritually awake than others. In other words, it is the announcement of the return of the Spirit of Christ who comes inhabiting a new shell. It is a new Manifestation who brings mankind new teachings. The chosen ones, mentioned in various prophecies, are the very few who have accepted the new teachings given by the returned Christ. They are also mentioned in the prophecy as being angelic entities (He will send out His angels). The prophecy says that God's chosen will be resident of various parts of the planet (from the four winds).

The evangelist, Matthew, continues to give us more clues pertaining to some of the events that will occur on earth as the spirit of Christ, animated by the Holy Spirit, returns to this world inhabiting a new shell.

Then there will be two men in the field ; one will be taken, the other left ; two women grinding at the mill ; one will be taken, the other left. Matthew 24 : 40-41

That verse could very well signify, as suggested in the above mentioned prophecy, that one out of two new believers, regardless of their social standing, will be taken away to be killed or martyred by the returned Christ's enemies. And always pursuing his descriptions of the times of the second apparition of Christ, the Apostle Matthew adds :

"Learn a lesson from the fig-tree. When its tender shoots appear and are breaking into leaf, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, you may know that the end is near, at the very door. I tell you this : the present generation will live to see it all. Heaven and earth will pass away; my words will never pass away. Matthew 24 : 32 to 35

As the fig-tree that starts new shoots early in spring, says Matthew, the return of Christ shall be a new spiritual springtime for humanity. All of the given signs shall be perceived by the same generation. Adding that the new spiritual teachings will be an evolutionary present for all humans.

Matthew now mentions the sudden happenings that will occur at the second coming of Christ, at His spiritual return.

But about that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, not even the son ; only the father. As things were in Noah's days, so will they be when the Son of Man comes. In the days before the flood they ate and drank and married, until the day that Noah went into the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes. Matthew 24 : 36-37-38-39

The son mentioned in the prophecy represents the double nature of Jesus Christ as man and divine Speaker. Jesus, the man, did not know the day or the hour of the promised return. Only God, the father of us all, knew the answer. However He has left us some very good clues which are to be found within the writings of the prophet Daniel that Christ referred us to, and in many of the writings of the old testament of the Bible.

The prophecy mentions that it is the Son of man that returns. We have already discovered that the spiritual meaning of Son of man is the holy Spirit. Since we cannot physically see the holy Spirit then we have no choice but to say that the only one that we will see will be the new Messenger who will be motivated by the holy Spirit.

We have already discovered, from the writings of the prophet Daniel, that we have been given the year, 1844, as the year for the coming of Christ's forerunner. We have also been given the year for the re-Manifestation of Christ, 1853, and the year of his proclamation which obviously already occurred in 1863 in a garden which has been referred to as the garden of paradise. All that we had to do, if we wanted to discover the true meaning of the return of Christ, was to assemble the various pieces of the puzzle. It is how we have arrived at assembling the full picture. We have been given the year of his promised return and the year of the coming of his announcer, His forerunner (the sound of the symbolic trumpet).

The coming of the Son of Man, the return of the Spirit of Christ, will be as sudden as the flood which occurred in the time of the prophet Noah. In other words, no one will be expecting that return when it does happen. That is exactly what has happened, is it not? The majority of the people of this world have failed to search for the promised day and, therefore, have failed to discover it.

In the following paragraph : Christ warns the world that, if they wish to discover Him at His "return", they must constantly be spiritually awake and watch for the promised event. He says that He will come at a time that you least expect Him. Is it not what has really happened?

Keep awake, then ; for you do not know what day your Lord is to come. Remember, if the householder had known at what time of night the burglar was coming, he would have kept awake and not have let his house broken into. Hold yourselves ready, therefore, because the Son of Man will come at the time you least expect him. Matthew 24 : 42-43-44

Christ is really trying to tell us that His return will not be an event that can be easily perceived with the naked eye. His return will be similarly to the way that a thief who comes to your home in the middle of the night. Only those who are ready to accept the returned Christ's new teachings will discover Him. They will then accept the new spiritual teachings that He will be giving to the world.

Will Christian religious teachers be able to recognize Him? I strongly suspect that they are unable to recognize Him because of their way of thinking. The main reason being that they are told to await for the physical return of the man known as Jesus, which is a great impossibility. It would seem that most religious teachers are not searching for the "Return" of Christ outside of their own re-written writings.

A divine prophet, or a heavenly sent Messenger, never returns to our world in the same physical attire. It is his Spirit essence and the fine qualities contained within Him that returns.

THE PARABLE OF THE TRUSTY SERVANT

Matthew terminates the chapter by repeating to us, through a parable, to be watchful for the "Return" of Christ. Let us remember that parables are a form of symbolic language known as Allegory.

Who is the trusty servant, the sensible man charged by his master to manage his household staff and issue their rations at the proper time? Happy the servant who is found at his task when his master comes! I tell you this : he will be put in charge of all his master's property. But if he is a bad servant and says to himself, " The master is a long time coming", and begins to bully the other servants and to eat and drink with his drunken friends, then the master will arrive on a day that servant does not expect, at a time he does not know, and will cut him in pieces. Thus he will find his place among the hypocrites, where there is wailing and grinding of teeth. Matthew 24 : 45 to 24 : 51

The above mentioned parable also refers itself to the return of the Spirit of Christ who comes to us during a period of spiritual darkness in the world.

Where were we when Christ and His forerunner returned to this world? We, and our ancestors, were obviously asleep and did not search out the various clues which had been given us. It is quite obvious that the mentioned "Return" does not mean what the majority of the people of this world believe but signifies the Promised One to come after Him who would give the world new spiritual teachings.
