THE TWO WITNESSES - THE TWO PROPHETS

Chapter eleven of Revelation contains a lot of valuable information. It is going to describe to us two witnesses who are given the great title of prophets. We shall soon discover that they were the prophets Mohammed and his own named successor whose name is Ali. We shall also realize that those two prophets have also been named as two Olive Trees and as two illuminating Lamps. Thus, this chapter is describing the new religion that Mohammad and his successor Ali brought to the people of the Arabic peninsula, the Moslem religion.

The strange descriptions given us in that chapter are also telling us that those two witnesses, who were given many titles, constantly had the power of the Holy Spirit available to them. It is said that, with that special divine power, they could even stop the rain from falling if they so desired. However, symbolically speaking, the mentioned rains also represents God's spiritual bounties. It is the reason why the prophecy says that God's two prophets had the power to stop spiritual bounties.

The following text is highly allegorical and, for that reason, it cannot be comprehended literally.

I was given a long reed, a kind of measuring-rod, and told; "Now go and measure the temple of God, the altar, and the number of the worshippers. But have nothing to do with the outer court of the temple; do not measure that ; for it has been given over to the Gentiles, and they will trample the Holy City underfoot for forty two months. Revelation 11 : 1-2

A lot of enlightening information has been given us pertaining to this particular chapter of the new Aquarian Revelation. It is said that the reed, mentioned in that prophecy, represents a Perfect Man and the manner of its likeness is this :

* when the interior of a reed is empty, and that it is free from all matter, it produces beautiful melodies; it also says that the sound and melodies do not actually come from the reed but from the flute player who is playing it. It goes on to say that the heart of that blessed Being is sanctified, free and emptied from everything save God Himself. Therefore, that blessed Being is pure and exempt from the attachments of all possible human conditions; He is the companion of the divine Spirit, the holy Spirit. Whatever that prophet says is not from Himself, it comes from the holy Spirit who is the real flute player ; it is a divine inspiration to all who are listening to Him. That is the reason why it is said that He is likened to a reed, the reed being like a rod ; that is to say, it is the helper of all possible human beings and of every impotent ones; it supports all human beings. That rod, with which He guards His flock, belongs to the divine Shepherd who leads the followers about the true pasture of the Kingdom of God.

* Some spiritual entity is told to rise and to measure the temple of God, the altar, and the number of the worshippers that worship therein. Measuring being the discovery of proportions, thus the spiritual entity compares and measures. The meaning is that the worshippers are to be investigated as to their true conditions, their perfections, their behaviours ; and what attributes do they possess.

* Then, it is said that the outer court is not to be measured because it belongs to the gentiles. The fact that they are Gentiles means that they are non Jewish. To properly explain that saying we have to go back to the beginning of the seventh century after Christ, at the time whereby Jerusalem was conquered. The house that king Solomon had built, the holy of Holies, was preserved outwardly. The outer court, outside the holy of Holies, had been given over to non Jews, to the gentiles.

* The meaning of the holy city being treaded under foot for forty two months signifies a period of twelve hundred and sixty days (42X30= 1260 days) and as each prophetical day is a year then it becomes 1260 years which happens to be the duration of the holy Book referred to as the Koran. Ezechiel chapter four verse six is quite specific. He says that each biblical day is equivalent to a year. So the duration of the dispensation of Islam was prophesied when Jerusalem was trodden under foot, meaning that it had lost its glory although the holy of holies was preserved, respected and guarded until the year 1260 ; according to our calendar, it is equivalent to the year 1844. The prophecy of the 1260 years actually prophesied the coming of the Messenger known as the "Door", which I already mentioned in one of my previous presentations. He was Christ's forerunner at His second coming, at the "Return" of his Spirit essence. The 1260 years having already gone by, Jerusalem the Holy City has become prosperous again. It has become an honoured City once again.

In the writings of this new Revelation, additional information has been given us which concerns those important verses. The symbolic meaning is as follows :

* It says that the law of God is divided into various parts, one being the fundamental basis comprising everything which is spiritual, meaning that it refers to the spiritual virtues and divine qualities, which never change or alters. It is referred to as the Holy of Holies, which is the essence of the Law of the following prophets, Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Christ, Muhammad, the Door and the returned Christ. That Law is established and lasts during all the prophetic cycles, It is a Law which is never annulled or cancelled. That Law is spiritual ; it is faith, it has certitude, knowledge, piety, justice, trustworthiness, righteousness, it is the love of God. It is also purity, detachment, benevolence, meekness, humility, patience and above all constancy. It is a spiritual Law which continuously shows mercy to the poor, it constantly defends the oppressed, it gives to those of misfortunes and it uplifts those that have fallen into a state of non-spirituality. Those divine qualities and eternal commandments are never abolished, they will remain forever. In each new prophetical cycle, those human virtues are renewed because the spiritual Law of God, which are those virtues, eventually disappear with only its outward forms remaining. So, it can be said that at the end of the cycle of Moses, amongst the Jews, came the Manifestation of Christ. The Jewish Law disappeared and only a form of the previous Jewish Law remaining without spirit. So, it can be said that the Holy of Holies had departed from amongst the Jews but the outer court of Jerusalem, meaning its religion, fell into the hands of the non Jewish. The same thing has happened to Christianity, the fundamental principles of the religion of Christ have also disappeared with only the form remaining in the hands of the priests and ministers. So have the fundamental principles of Muhammad also disappeared, only its form remaining in the hands of its religious teachers.

* To summarise it all : the spiritual foundations of the religions of God, which are human virtues, cannot ever be cancelled, repealed or annulled because those foundations are eternal and irremovable. Those virtues are renewed in every new cycle of happenings, the new Messenger or prophet renews them. The second part of the Religion of God, the references which are made to the material world and which consists of the following : prayer, fasting, various forms of worship, the laws of marriage and those of divorce, the abolition of slavery, all transactions and legal processes, violence, murders, theft and injuries to others. Those are the Laws of God which refer themselves to the material things of this world. However, those Laws are often altered and modified in each prophetical cycles and in accordance with the necessities of the new times. So briefly, it can be said that the term Holy of Holies means God's spiritual Laws which is never altered, modified cancelled or annulled. The meaning of the Holy City refers itself to the material Law which was trodden underfoot for a period of 1260 years, until 1844.

The writings of Revelation are now mentioning two witnesses, two prophets. It is describing certain events but symbolically.

And I have two witnesses, whom I will appoint to prophecy, dressed in sackcloth, all through those twelve hundred and sixty days. These are the two olive trees and the two lamps that stand in the presence of the Lord of the earth. If anyone seeks to do them harm, fire pours from their mouths and consumes their enemies; and thus shall the man die who seeks to do them harm. These two have the power to shut up the sky, so that no rain may fall during the time of their prophesying ; and they have the power to turn water to blood and to strike the earth at will with every kind of plague. Revelation 11 : 3 to 11 : 6

* God's two witnesses are also labelled as the two olive trees and as the two candlesticks, it is said that they are standing before the God of the earth. It also says that those two prophets can be compared to olive trees because, in those days, all lamps were lit by olive oil. The meaning is that those two persons, prophets, were armed with the wisdom of the Spirit of God and illuminated the vast deserts of Arabia with new spiritual teachings. Those spiritual lights of God radiated and shone forth with new spiritual teachings they gave to those people. Therefore, it is said that they are like candlesticks because from the candlesticks the light shone forth in the form of new teachings. So it is also said that from those candlesticks, who are the light of guidance, shone forth and radiated from those two Holy illuminated souls.

* The meaning of, "they are standing before God", is that their standing is in the service of God educating the barbarous nomad Arab tribes of the Arabian peninsula with new spiritual truths. They educated them so well that, in those ancient days, they reached a high degree of civilization their fame and renown becoming worldwide.

* "If anyone seeks to do them harm, fire pours from their mouths and consumes their enemies ; and thus shall the man die who seeks to do them harm." It means that no one would be able to withstand those two prophets. If anyone should try to make a mockery of their teachings as if they were of no value, they would be surrounded and exterminated by those new laws which comes out of the mouth of those two prophets. They would be destroyed by a command uttered by those divine Messengers, especially if anyone attempted to injure, antagonize and hate them. And it happened, the enemies of those two were overcome, annihilated and put to flight. So, it was the way in which God assisted them.

* Then it was said that " These two have the power to shut the sky, so that no rain may fall during the time of their prophesying". The meaning being that during the cycle of their prophesying, they would be like spiritual kings. Meaning that the teachings and the Law of Muhammad, the explanations and commentaries of Ali, were really a heavenly bounty. If they so wished to give of this bounty, they had the power to do so. It is said that they could wish that the rains, meaning the bounty, be held back if they so desired.

* It is also said that "they have power over water to turn it to blood". The meaning is that the prophethood of Muhammad was the same as the prophethood of Moses, the power of Ali was the same as Moses successor Joshua. If they wished, they could have turned the water of the Nile into blood because the power of the Holy Spirit was available to them.

* The Egyptians who had denied the teachings of Moses, through their ignorance and pride, became the cause of their own death. So it is said that the power of Pharaoh and of his people, through their oppositions, their pride and their constant denials, were the cause of their own deaths, their degradation and their new poverty. So it was that Muhammad and Ali also had the power to destroy a nation.

* "And to strike the earth at will with every kind of plague, and as often as they will". Meaning that they would have the necessary power to educate the wicked, the oppressors and the tyrants. God had granted those two witnesses inward and outward power so that they could educate and correct their ferocity, their bloodthirstiness. They were tyrannical Arabic nomads who were like beasts of prey.

But when they have completed their testimony, the beast that comes from the abyss will wage war upon them and will defeat and kill them. Their corpses will lie in the street of the great city, whose name in allegory is Sodom, or Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. For three days and a half men from every people and tribe, of every language and nation, gaze upon their corpses and refuse them burial. All men on earth gloat over them, make merry, and exchange presents ; for these two prophets were a torment to the whole earth. Revelation 11 : 7 to 11 : 10

* "When they have completed their testimony", means that when they had performed that which God commanded them to do. Meaning when they had delivered the divine message to the people of the Arabian peninsula. They promoted the Law of God to them thus propagating the heavenly teachings. The intent being that spiritual life might be manifested in those earthly souls so that the light of the virtues of the human world might shine and until the complete development of those nomadic tribes was successful.

The beast mentioned, who is said to be coming out of the abyss to wage war on them and kill them, is a reference to the Umayyads who attacked them from the pit of error. The Caliphs, also known as the Umayyads, was the beast mentioned. They arose against the religion of Muhammad and against the spiritual teachings given by Him and his true successor Ali. The Caliphs actually arose to downgrade the love of God for the people.

* The war being made against the two witnesses was a spiritual war. In other words, the beast was acting contrary to the teachings, the customs and the institutions established by the two witnesses thus their animal nature and carnal desires conquered and dispelled the power of the two witnesses. Therefore, the beast making war against them and gaining victory means that they gained ascendancy over the world through the darkness of error. To kill those two witnesses means that the beast, the Umayyads who were the the Kaliphs, destroyed spiritual truths which had been given by Mohammad and his successor Ali. They managed to remove the divine laws and teachings that those two prophets had given to the people while they were alive, they were now treading underneath their feet the new religion of God. Nothing remained of the religion of Muhammad, it had become a lifeless body without any spirit whatsoever.

It is interesting to mention, so that the readers can gain a better understanding, that all of those things actually happened after Muhammad died of natural causes and after Ali had been murdered by evil individuals. None of those things happened while Muhammad was alive, they began happening after the departure, after the deaths of those two prophets.

The meaning of their bodies, corpses, lying in the streets of the great city, which is spiritually called Sodom or Egypt, has been given in this new Revelation and is as follows :

* their corpses represents the religion of God, the religion of Muhammad. The meaning of "in the streets" means that the destruction of that religion by the Caliphs was in public view. Sodom and Egypt being mentioned means the place where the Lord was (unsuccessfully) crucified, in the region of Syria and especially in Jerusalem where the dominions of the Umayyads was located. It is the exact location whereby the religion of Muhammad had disappeared, the religion had become a dead body without any spirit whatsoever.

* "For three days and a half men from every people and tribe, of every language and nation, gaze upon their corpses and refuse them burial." I have already explained that, according to the terminology of the sacred writings, the meaning of three days and a half is three years and a half which is also 42 months. Those months are equivalent to 1260 days which in turn represents 1260 years because, in the term of the holy text, a day is equivalent to a year. The true meaning being that for 1260 years (until 1844) the people that Muhammad had taught were now looking at the body, meaning the religion which was now spiritually dead because its true teachings had disappeared. So we can honestly say that the religion of Muhammad appeared to be intact although its body, its true teachings, had been destroyed, they had disappeared from their midst. So they preserved only the name of the religion and its remembrance. The people mentioned in those writings are those who had gathered under the shadow of the Koran, they did not permit the Law of God to be entirely destroyed and annihilated. The religion still contained prayer and fasting. However, moral and conduct and the knowledge of the divine mysteries had completely disappeared. Also the truthful light, which are qualities of moral values for humanity and which is the result of the knowledge and love of God, had also completely disappeared.

"..men from every people and tribe, of every language and nation, gaze upon their corpses and refuse them burial."

* It means that various people from Asia were happy to see that corruption of morals had infected Islam. Persia had been a nation which had attained the summit of power and which had become downgraded and downtrodden. The Law of God had departed from among the people, corruption of morals had infected them.

* To gaze upon their corpses and refuse them burial means that it was as if those two prophets were dead and their bodies remaining without spirit.

The meaning of, "All men on earth gloat over them, make merry, and exchange presents; for these two prophets were a torment to the whole earth", is as follows :

* all men on earth means people of various races who encompassed all of Asia and Europe as well. Exchanging presents with one another means that they would help one another. The meaning of the two prophets who were a torment for the whole earth is as follows : * the two prophets, Muhammad and Ali, overcame many people and nations with their divine teachings and in effect they had conquered them spiritually.

Can you, the searcher of truth, understand why it is so hard to properly understand biblical writings? Its spiritual language has other than a literal meaning.

The following presentation will give us the explanations pertaining to the second and third woes that occur at the sounding of the last two trumpets.
