MYSTICAL PEARLS - DIVINE ELIXIR
* The purpose of the one true God in
manifesting Himself is to summon all mankind to truthfulness and sincerity, to piety and trustworthiness,
to resignation and submissiveness to the Will of God, to forbearance and kindliness, to uprightness and
wisdom. His object is to array every man with the mantle of a saintly character, and to adorn him with the
ornament of holy and goodly deeds.Baha'u'llah
Indeed God has created everywhere around this Gate : oceans of divine
elixir, tinged crimson with the essence of existence and vitalized through the animating power of the
desired fruit; and for them God has provided Arks of ruby, tender, crimson-coloured, wherein none shall
sail but the people of Baha, by the leave of God, the Most Exalted; and verily He is the All-Glorious, the
All-Wise.
The Book of God is wide open, and His Word is summoning mankind unto Him. No more than a mere
handful, however, has been found willing to cleave to His Cause, or to become the instruments for its
promotion. These few have been endued with the Divine Elixir that can, alone, transmute into purest gold
the dross of the world, and have been empowered to administer the infallible remedy for all the ills that
afflict the children of men. No man can obtain everlasting life, unless he embraces the truth of this
inestimable, this wondrous, and sublime Revelation.
The vitality of men's belief in God is dying out in every land; nothing short of His wholesome
medicine can ever restore it. The corrosion of ungodliness is eating into the vitals of human society; what
else but the Elixir of His potent Revelation can cleanse and revive it? Is it within human power, O Hakim,
to effect in the constituent elements of any of the minute and indivisible particles of matter so complete a
transformation as to transmute it into purest gold? Perplexing and difficult as this may appear, the still
greater task of converting satanic strength into heavenly power is one that We have been empowered to
accomplish. The Force capable of such a transformation transcends the potency of the Elixir itself. The
Word of God, alone, can claim the distinction of being endowed with the capacity required for so great
and far-reaching a change.
It is evident that nothing short of this mystic transformation could cause such spirit and behaviour,
so utterly unlike their previous habits and manners, to be made manifest in the world of being. For their
agitation was turned into peace, their doubt into certitude, their timidity into courage. Such is the potency
of the Divine Elixir, which, swift as the twinkling of an eye, transmutes the souls of men!
For instance, consider the substance of copper. Were it to be protected in its own mine from
becoming solidified, it would, within the space of seventy years, attain to the state of gold. There are
some, however, who maintain that copper itself is gold, which by becoming solidified is in a diseased
condition, and has not therefore reached its own state.
Be that as it may, the real elixir will, in one instant, cause the substance of copper to attain the state
of gold, and will traverse the seventy-year stages in a single moment. Could this gold be called copper?
Could it be claimed that it has not attained the state of gold, while the touch-stone is at hand to assay it
and distinguish it from copper?
Likewise, these souls, through the potency of the Divine Elixir, traverse, in the twinkling of an eye,
the world of dust and advance into the realm of holiness; and with one step cover the earth of limitations
and reach the domain of the Placeless. It behooves you (it is morally necessary for you ) to exert your
utmost to attain unto this Elixir which, in one fleeting breath, causes the west of ignorance to reach the
east of knowledge, illuminates the darkness of night with the resplendence of the morning, guides the
wanderer in the wilderness of doubt to the well-spring of the Divine Presence and Fount of certitude, and
confers upon mortal souls the honour of acceptance into the Ridvan of immortality. Now, could this gold
be thought to be copper, these people could likewise be thought to be the same as before they were
endowed with faith.
I beg of You, O my God, by Your most exalted Word which You have ordained as the Divine Elixir
unto all who are in Your realm, the Elixir through whose potency the crude metal of human life has been
transmuted into purest gold, O You in Whose hands are both the visible and invisible kingdoms, to
ordain that my choice be conformed to your choice and my wish to your wish, that I may be entirely
content with that which you did desire, and be wholly satisfied with what you did destine for me by Your
bounteousness and favour. Potent are You to do as You will. You, in very truth, are the All-Glorious, the
All-Wise.
The sanctified souls should ponder and meditate in their hearts regarding the methods of teaching.
From the texts of the wondrous, heavenly Scriptures they should memorize phrases and passages
bearing on various instances, so that in the course of their speech they may recite divine verses
whenever the occasion demands it, inasmuch as these holy verses are the most potent elixir, the
greatest and mightiest talisman. So potent is their influence that the hearer will have no cause for
vacillation. I swear by My life! This Revelation is endowed with such a power that it will act as the
lodestone for all nations and kindreds of the earth. Should one pause to meditate attentively he would
recognize that no place is there, nor can there be, for anyone to flee to.
...It is certain that the wise physician can diagnose his patient's needs at any season, and apply the
cure. Wherefore, relate the Teachings of the Abha Beauty to the urgent needs of this present day, and
you will see that they provide an instant remedy for the ailing body of the world. Indeed, they are the
elixir that brings eternal health.
The treatment ordered by wise physicians of the past, and by those that follow after, is not one and
the same, rather does it depend on what ails the patient; and although the remedy may change, the
aim is always to bring the patient back to health. In the dispensations gone before, the feeble body of the
world could not withstand a rigorous or powerful cure. For this reason did Christ say: `I have yet many
things to say unto you, matters needing to be told, but you cannot bear to hear them now. However when
that Comforting Spirit, Whom the Father will send, shall come, He will make plain unto you the truth.'
Therefore, in this age of splendours, teachings once limited to the few are made available to all, that
the mercy of the Lord may embrace both east and west, that the oneness of the world of humanity may
appear in its full beauty, and that the dazzling rays of reality may flood the realm of the mind with light.
...Love is, indeed, a most potent elixir that can transform the vilest and meanest of people into
heavenly souls. May your example serve to further confirm the truth of this beautiful teaching of
our Faith.
I am convinced that large portions of the Writings provide the content for an internal belief system of
rapid spiritual transformation. It is that Divine Elixir which has been already used successfully by Babi's
and Baha'is from our beginning, with nearly instantaneous results.
"It is evident that nothing short of this mystic transformation could cause such spirit and behaviour,
so utterly unlike their previous habits and manners, to be made manifest in the world of being. For their
agitation was turned into peace, their doubt into certitude, their timidity into courage. Such is the potency
of the Divine Elixir, which, swift as the twinkling of an eye, transmutes the souls of men!"
The following presentation will allow you to peruse some mystical poems which were written by a
strongly motivated spiritual writer who has given her permission to output them on this site which she
loves to peruse from time to time. She is a poet, a writer, and an artist who is well known in a certain
spiritual circle.
The author of the poems, an American, is now deceased. She is now residing in Paradise. (heaven)
Her name is Galya Gunderson. What a loss!
